Interbourse Champions 2017 Zurich – here lead by Marc Freuler and Daniel Weinmann
Interbourse Football History, from 2000-2024
The Cup and idea was, like the Olympics created by a Frenchman, Pascal Corbel Paris 1999. The first Tournament was played in Paris 2000. The basic idea was and is still to let people from different markets meet each other and learn more about people and culture on each specific market. The Tournament has played a role to open up the European Marketplace.
The following tournament was arranged by Daniel Weinmann Zurich and Frank Diergardt Frankfurt who really contributed on the early stages when the tournament was fully financed by the organising stock markets. In conjunction with Stockholm-Helsinki Tournament 2004 the new model of the Tournament was developed where the financial players contributed by paying a fee for playing the tournament and for the first time over 10 teams participated. It also got a more fixed structure;
The Tournament is today played first weekend in September or last weekend in august every year. A driver for that development was Per-Erik Holmström, Peter Nordquist, Pekka Pejponen and Riku Oksala Stockholm and Helsinki, they were followed by Giovanni Sardi and Enrico Pellizzoni Milan, Thorsten Aberle Stuttgart, Gonzalo Hortal Madrid and Jonas Sigurgeirsson Reykjavik.
The Tournament second round in Europe is also completed and Pascal Corbel Paris, Daniel Weinmann Zurich, Frank Diergardt Frankfurt, Per-Erik Holmström and Einar Brekkan Stockholm and Gonzalo Hortal Madrid has completed their missions. 2013 it was organized in London for the first time by Steven Lacey. 2014 it was hosted in the Öresund Region Malmö and Copenhagen by Financial Hearings for the first time. 2016 “Masters for Champions” on Malta was organized by the Financial European Football Association (Interbourse)
2017 Zurich, Daniel Weinmann and Marc Freuler hosted the tournament for the third time. 2018 the Tournament took part in Oslo for the first time arranged by Geir Solvberg and DNB. 2019 Cboe took over the Tournement and it was hosted in the Marbella, Malaga. The Corona has stoped the Tournament a couple of years but now it is ready to restart 2023 in Stockholm and Helsinki with a ” New Positive Football Deal” followed by “Viva Espagna” 2024
